Histories and Herstories Experienced by Bus
Linz 2009 European Capital of Culture

From one struggle to another

What political demands were brought to the streets of Linz, and when? How were these inscribed into the city itself? In summer 2008, together with trafo.K, a group of young people from the Trade Union Upper Austria engaged in a discussion of past and present workers' struggle. Songs, commemorative plaques and representations in the media were used to explore the urban space. The result was a bus tour with the motto ›from one struggle to the other‹, focusing on different forms of protest: it draws attention to the histories of demonstrations, strikes, occupations, work refusals and rebellions ...

In cooperation with the Youth Division of the Trade Union Upper Austria, artist Eva Egermann, scholar Vida Bakondy and dramaturge Marty Huber

With contributions by: Vida Bakondy, Leopoldine Feichtinger, Claudia K. Gangl, Gabriele Müller, Bernhard Pospisil, Ajdin Rexhepi.
